Giving Back

Our founder, Karuna Patel, has been passionate about giving back and supporting others since she was in high school.

She has done extensive international and domestic groundwork in creating impact, disaster relief, and empowering communities.

Turtle Rabbit supports kindness, generosity, and empowerment within the clinic walls and beyond.

Here are a few organizations that we currently support and would love for you to know about also:

Mission:

“The Y is a nonprofit committed to making the community a better place to live, work and play.  Creating program that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Y’s MISSION is reflected by the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.”

Mission:

“Together We Rise is a non-profit organization comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth. Our vision is to improve the lives of children in foster care, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. We collaborate with individuals, companies, and community partners to bring resources to foster youth and use service-learning activities to educate volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system.

Together We Rise is dedicated to transforming the way youth navigate through the foster care system in America.”

We proudly participated with Together We Rise in their Sweet Case donation. Together with clients we decorated the duffel bags or “sweet case” as it’s called and added in extra necessities (socks, toothbrushes, coloring books etc.).

It was fun and fulfilling to give back to an important cause.

Mission:

“The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) concept began in 1976 and has since become a national volunteer movement.

Judge Soukup came up with an idea: well-trained volunteers who could ensure children’s voices were heard and provide judges with the necessary insight to make the best possible decisions. By 1977, Judge Soukup formed the first CASA program. The first program recruited, screened, trained and supervised fifty everyday people who volunteered to build meaningful relationships and advocate for children in the dependency court system.

Since those fifty volunteer advocates in 1977, a network of close to 1,000 CASA programs serving children has formed nationwide. Marin Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is one of those programs.”

Mission:

“From a peaceful corner of the Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram, Manav Sadhna (MS) has been humbly serving since 1995 to strengthen underprivileged communities in Ahmedabad through programs in Holistic Education, Nutrition, Health and Hygiene, Community Building, Livelihoods, Compassion In Action and Disaster Relief. By seeing God in every individual (manav), we believe service is transformed into worship (sadhna).

Although there is great diversity amongst our programs, they are all based on people’s participation and evolve according to the needs of the community. Over time, we have seen these efforts inspire the holistic growth and transformation of the communities with significant improvements in sanitation, education, health and overall quality of life.”

Mission:

“We mobilize resources to improve the lives of children in India’s most underserved communities. We do this by partnering with proven NGOs on the ground that facilitate projects and resources with continuous real time updates.

Seva is derived from Sanskrit, meaning ‘service.’ Seva is the selfless service of others, performed without any expectation or reward.”
